Timber is one of the most sustainable building materials available. Its stability and its natural qualities, also make green oak one of the most beautiful.
During growth, trees absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This remains within the timber until it is either burned or returned to the natural cycle. This actively reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which in turn is a natural contributor to the environment that we cannot ignore.
Oak buildings (if taken care of) can last hundreds of years compared to the 30+ years of growth making green oak invaluable, durable and extremely sustainable.
