Types of Roof Trusses
We can design and make a wide variety of oak roof truss styles which can have countless variations on each style and purpose for example if you require additional head room height.
King Post Truss
A handcrafted oak king post truss is usually a structural feature, triangular in shape with straight vertical post and diagonal struts. The diagonal struts can also be curved.
Queen Post Truss
A hand-crafted oak queen post truss can help with wide spans. It consists of two vertical posts and a collar to form a square or rectangular shape inside the triangle. Other options are a curved, angled queen post truss with curved vertical posts.
Raised Tie Truss or Raised collar truss
Suitable for lofts and attics to increase living space within the roof. It is a truss adapted to create extra head room by raising the tie beam or the collar beam higher, redistributing loads using additional bracing and other components.
Flat Top Trusses
Ideal for orangery roofs. This type of truss provides structural support for roof lanterns. Lanterns are large glass domes or pyramids that are fitted on top of an orangery flat roof to allow natural light to flood in.
