Oak Fabrication Manager

Location: Fine Oak Buildings, The Barn, Shrubbs Farm, Essex, CM22 7LL (Some site work maybe required).

Status: Full-time 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday (some Saturday work may be required)

Salary: From £40k + Company Van 

 

We are looking for an Oak Frame Fabrication Manager to join our team based in Essex.

Our oak fabrication projects cover the full range of oak timber frame builds, from large house projects and garage complexes through to small oak canopy porches and beam casements; both residential and commercial.

The chosen candidate must have the ability to understand design plans and working drawings from start to finish to a very high standard along with experience in the relevant framing methods and use of required machinery. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to manage a small team within our workshop. The role is based at our Essex location and the role will be based within our workshop although site work would be needed if required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to fabricate oak frames by use of traditional jointing methods.

  • Load and unload delivery and collection vehicles.

  • Ensure that the workshop and yard is clean and tidy.

  • Maintain effective communcations with office staff, Directors and clients.
  • Comply with Company standards in Health & Safety, Fire and Emergency, thus providing a safe environment for colleagues.

Oak Frame Fabricator

We are looking for experience timber/oak frame fabricators and installers to join our team based in Essex.

Our oak fabrication projects cover the full range of oak timber frame builds, from large house projects and garage complexes through to small oak canopy porches and beam casements; both residential and commercial. The chosen candidate must have the ability to follow design plans from start to finish to a very high standard. All oak frames use traditional oak jointing methods and are pegged using oak dowels and manufactured and fabricated in house at our Essex location ready to be delivered direct to site either to be installed by our own team of installers or direct to the trade.

– Carpentry qualifications: NVQ, City & Guilds etc.

Carpenters & Installers

Location: Fine Oak Buildings, The Barn, Shrubbs Farm, Essex, CM22 7LL.

Status: Full-time, Employed and Self Employed 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday (some Saturday work may be required)

Salary: Subject to experience.

 

Due to the continued company expansion and growth we are now seeking additional Oak Carpenters/Softwood Carpenters, with a passion and experience within the construction industry.

Positions are available as both self employed and employed status.

Working on new, varied and exciting projects based generally 1 hours drive from our Essex location of Hatfield Heath. Install projects vary from oak porches, garages, houses to installing oak trusses, each project is carried out and finished to the highest degree of expertise and accuracy. Applicants must know, understand and be able to complete the whole installation process from start to finish. Due to the role being client facing the correct 'can do' attitude is essential for this role. The applicant must have a proven track record and references will be obtained.

Generally working from a radius of 1 hour from our essex location applicants must be able to drive and have their own tools. Further travelling may be required if needed. You maybe expected to work overtime if needed.

Experience in the oak framing manufacture and install would be advantagous but not essential as training can be given.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Reading and understanding drawings.
  • Excellent communication to designer / workshop / project manager.
  • A general understanding of common construction methods.
  • Read and understand oak frame drawings.
  • General understanding of green oak framing (advantagous but not essential).
  • Identify logical assembly / erection sequence of oak framing.
  • Cut and install various roof rafters/structures.
  • Fitting vapour barriers, breather membranes etc. 
  • Cutting and fitting of common sheet materials.
  • Softwood timber frames.
  • Basic common services (plumbing etc.).
  • Competent using of a wide range of hand tools.
  • Undertaking projects on site from start to completion.
