Location: Fine Oak Buildings, The Barn, Shrubbs Farm, Essex, CM22 7LL (Some site work maybe required).

Status: Full-time 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday (some Saturday work may be required)

Salary: From £30k depending on experience 

 

We are looking for experience timber/oak frame fabricators and installers to join our team based in Essex.

Our oak fabrication projects cover the full range of oak timber frame builds, from large house projects and garage complexes through to small oak canopy porches and beam casements; both residential and commercial. The chosen candidate must have the ability to follow design plans from start to finish to a very high standard. All oak frames use traditional oak jointing methods and are pegged using oak dowels and manufactured and fabricated in house at our Essex location ready to be delivered direct to site either to be installed by our own team of installers or direct to the trade.

The following would be desirable but not essential:

– Carpentry qualifications: NVQ, City & Guilds etc.
– CSCS card, H&S test, first aid, forklift, chainsaw, scaffold towers (training can be given)

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Follow frame design plans to fullfill the project to a high standard
  • Manage product storage and distribution in the yard and workshop.
  • Develop an all-round knowledge of our oak products and processes.
  • Ability to fabricate oak frames by use of traditional jointing methods. 
  • Follow design plans
  • Care & attention to detail
  • Tidy, productive, efficient
  • Package products ready for storage and delivery.
  • Load and unload delivery and collection vehicles. 
  • Re-saw timber sections via chainsaw and bandsaw.
  • Forward thinking, solutions focussed
  • Work closely with Project Coordinator to ensure operations run smoothly and safely. 
  • Ensure that the workshop and yard is clean and tidy.
  • Help develop and improve workshop and distribution processes. 
  • Carry out additional duties as and when required.
  • Care and attention to detail, is a must
  • Great communication skills
  • Maintain effective communcations with office staff, Directors and clients.
  • Comply with Company standards in Health & Safety, Fire and Emergency, thus providing a safe environment for colleagues.
